The box comes down from the attic on the first of December. Every year, without fail. You peel back the tissue paper and there they are — your grandmother’s baubles, indent glass in dusty rose and sage, each one catching the light like a small, quiet miracle. The nutcrackers go on the windowsill. The garland of holly gets draped over the mantle, a little crooked, exactly right. And the lights — that impossible knot of lights — take the better part of an afternoon to untangle, but no one really minds.
Outside, the world is quiet. Snow begins to fall, soft and steady, blanketing everything in white. You pause for a moment, watching as rooftops and branches transform into something hushed and beautiful. The white flakes drift across the window, sparkling softly in the light.
Inside, the room glows. Strings of lights now wrapped lovingly around the tree, weaving warmth and magic into every corner. You cradle a warm drink in your hands, letting the heat seep in as enjoy the familiar Christmas songs playing softly on the radio.
Vintage Christmas is a mini pattern collection built from moments like these. The ones you carry without realising it — until the box comes down from the attic and everything rushes back. Featuring repeating ornament drops, swirling fairy lights, harlequin nutcrackers and a snow-hushed village scene, the collection speaks in the warm, faded tones of a childhood Christmas remembered perfectly.
This is the holiday as it lives in the heart. Rosy, a little rumpled, and absolutely irreplaceable.
